Approximately 80-85% of all stored files are older than six months and no longer be accessed normally. Nevertheless, these data will be a day - time and cost saved - on tape. Also the restore of individual files, all too often falls into an adventure: Is the file still available on a backup - the backup tape can still be read? The software file @ PAM takes corrective action.

 

After administratively defined rules file @ PAM scoured the specified file server and stores archivierfähige files (such as last access time older than n days) on inexpensive storage media.On the original file server just leaves a placeholder in the form of links (1 KB!).
